As we gear up for an exciting 2025 hockey season, Northern United Hockey Club is thrilled to announce the preseason training schedule for our Premier 1 (P1) and Premier 2 (P2) men’s teams. These sessions are designed to prepare our athletes for the competitive season ahead and to integrate new talent into our squads.

Preseason Training Schedule:

📅 Dates: Thursday evenings (20 February, 27 February, 6 March, and 13 March)

⏰ Time: 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM

📍 Location Fraser Park Hockey Turf, 34 Percy Cameron Street, Lower Hutt

Meet Our Coach:

We are proud to have Leah Murphy leading our P1 Men's team this season. With nearly 20 years of coaching experience, Leah brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for developing players at all levels.

What to Bring:

Personal hockey equipment (stick, shin guards, mouthguard)
Water bottle
Positive attitude and readiness to train hard

Registration:

To ensure we can plan effectively, please register your interest in attending the preseason sessions by contacting us at info@northernunited.co.nz or Leah directly at 021 819 592. This will help us manage numbers and tailor the sessions to meet the needs of all participants.

Looking Ahead:

Following the preseason training, we will be holding our Senior Trials for the 2025 season. These trials are open to all adults and secondary students (Year 11 and above) interested in joining our competitive and community-focused teams. The trial dates are as follows:

Men’s Hockey Trials:

Sunday, 2nd March 2025 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | NHS2
Thursday, 6th March 2025 | 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM (P1 Only) | NHS1
Saturday, 8th March 2025 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM | NHS1

All trials will be held at the National Hockey Stadium, Berhampore, Wellington.

We encourage all players aiming to join our P1 and P2 men’s teams to attend these preseason sessions. It's a fantastic opportunity to hone your skills, meet the coaching staff, and connect with fellow players.
