Our Junior’s (affectionately known as NUggets) play in the local Mini Stick, Kiwi Stick and Kwik Stick competitions run through Wellington Hockey. We draw on players from the city’s northern suburbs from Churton Park through to Wilton.

Mini Sticks - NUHC Mā (Years 3&4) - mixed

Is a 3-a-side format for the Mini Sticks (Years 3 & 4) competition at Wellington's National Hockey Stadium.

The core focus is to encourge play and having fun with friends. While introducing a focus on goal scoring, in undefended goals, the concept of teamwork.

Kiwi Sticks - NUHC Pango (Years 5&6) - mixed

Kiwi Sticks is open to a range of abilities from introductory level players that are new to hockey and those players who are familiar with hockey and have an understanding of the game. The competition will host a 6-a-side, third-field format with 20 minute halves. The focus of the competition will see an introduction to playing positions and positional concepts, and continuing to have fun with friends.

Kwik Sticks- NUHC Parauri & NUHC Kōwhai (Years 7&8) - Boys and Girls

Our Kwik Sticks (Year 7 & 8) competition hosts 7-a-side games with a building and developing transferable skills and conceptual understanding of hockey positioning and tactics, while having fun with friends.
