We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jenny Whitworth as our newest Life Member of the Northern United Hockey Club at the 2024 AGM.
Jenny has been an integral part of our club for the past 18 years, contributing immeasurably to its growth and success. Most notably, she served as Secretary for 12 years, a role in which she demonstrated exceptional organisational skills, dedication, and an unyielding commitment to the well-being of our members and the future of the club. Her efforts ensured that our club remained not only well-organised but also financially stable, all while maintaining her ever-present friendly and positive attitude.
Jenny’s influence extended far beyond her administrative work. Her warmth, positivity, and approachable nature made her a beacon of encouragement for all who interacted with her. She has been the heart and soul of the club, a constant source of support, and a driving force behind many of our successes.
When Jenny moved to Whanganui at the end of 2023, she continued to support the club behind the scenes, providing a supportive and guiding hand to the Northern United committee. But that wasn't enough for Jenny—she continued to help out in the Wellington hockey community, managing not only the Wellington Women's NHC Tier 1 team but also the newly created Premier Hockey League Falcons. What an inspiration she is to all of us! We are indeed lucky to have her!
